This post which includes a video shows how I use the Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month, Jan 2023, Hydrangea Bouquet, and coordinating die to create two cards, colouring the images with Copic markers. The backgrounds of the cards are created with the Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month, Jan 2023, Stylized Trellis.

Check out the video below.

Card #1 - White background

Place large flower stamp from the Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month, Jan 2023, Hydrangea Bouquet in stamping platform and stamp image on X-Press It Blending Card (which is alcohol marker friendly) with Altenew Permanent Black Crisp Dye Ink. Note: Leave the stamp in the stamping platform, to allow the stamping of image again after colouring it.

Colour image with Copic markers, as follows:

Green - YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67

Yellow/Orange - YR00, YR12, YR16, YR18, Y38, with a little R24

Purple - BV000, BV02, BV04, BV08

Pink - R81, R83, R85, R89

After colouring the image, place it back in the stamping platform and treat with anti-static powder. Stamp image with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink, sprinkle with clear embossing powder and melt embossing powder with heat tool. This will make the image sharper and give a shine to the outline of the image.

Use the coordinating die, Hydrangea Bouquet, and die cut image with a die cutting machine. Die cut two other pieces of the image in white card to layer the image for dimension. Attach the two die cuts behind the coloured die cut with liquid glue.

For the background, put a white card panel in the Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month, Jan 2023, Stylized Trellis. This is a 2D embossing folder, as such the specific ‘sandwich’ as dictated by the manufacturer of the embossing machine. Run through embossing machine and use the debossed pattern. Smoosh some Distress Ink Seedless Preserves on a non-porous surface, spritz with water, and use a paint brush to splatter on debossed image. Use a splat box to protect your surface area.

Trim debossed card panel with splatters to card base size and attach to card base with double-sided tape. Attach die cut and layered coloured Hydrangea Bouquet to card front with liquid glue.

For the sentiment, stamp ‘hello friend’ from the Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month, Jan 2023, Hydrangea Bouquet, with clear embossing ink, sprinkle with white embossing powder, and melt embossing powder with a heat tool. Use coordinating die and die cut sentiment, with additional die cuts to layer sentiment for dimension. Attach sentiment to card front with liquid glue.

Complete card with gems on card front using a gem picker tool and liquid glue. I added many tiny pearly gems on the hydrangea, perhaps a tad too many but I love how it turned out.

Card #2 - Black background

Place large flower stamp from the Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month, Jan 2023, Hydrangea Bouquet in stamping platform and stamp image on X-Press It Blending Card (which is alcohol marker friendly) with Altenew Permanent Black Crisp Dye Ink. Pink - R81, R83, R85, R89

After colouring the image, place it back in the stamping platform and treat with anti-static powder. Stamp image with clear embossing ink, sprinkle with gold embossing powder and melt embossing powder with heat tool. The gold outline will stand out against a black background and give a shine to the outline of the image.

Use the coordinating die, Hydrangea Bouquet, and die cut image with a die cutting machine. Use copic marker 100 to colour the outline of the die cut as well as the inner white spaces on the card. Note: This will allow the coloured die cut image to blend against a black background.

Die cut two other pieces of the image in black card to layer the image for dimension. Attach the two die cuts behind the coloured die cut with liquid glue.

For the background, put a black card panel in the Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month, Jan 2023, Stylized Trellis. This is a 2D embossing folder, as such the specific ‘sandwich’ as dictated by the manufacturer of the embossing machine. Run through embossing machine and use the debossed pattern. Splatter debossed card panel with Enchanted Gold from Altenew Metallic Watercolor set. Use a splat box to protect your surface area.

Trim debossed card panel with splatters to size of card base, back with fun foam and attach to card base with double-sided tape. Attach die cut and layered coloured Hydrangea Bouquet to card front with liquid glue.
