CRAFT Challenge, Inspired by a Song - Foiled Cards
Three foiled cards using the With Love Perfume image from All Dressed Up

This post which includes a video shows how I foil with a laminator using the With Love Perfume image from All Dressed Up as part of CRAFT Challenge. I used a very old laminator for the foiling after printing the image on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with the aid of a laser printer. Also I show how I use the same method to hot foil patterned paper, as it’s the toner that activates the foil.
I made these three cards for my sister and two nieces and included their initials on the perfume bottle using the Stampendous Small Typewriter Alphabet Stamp set. The song that inspired these cards is ‘It’s Your Love’ by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. My sister and I have been close and been there for each other through thick and thin, especially through bereavement of loved ones in the last two years.

Card #1
Print the With Love Perfume image on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with a laser printer. Turn on laminator to heat up and be ready. Cut the Deco Foil Pink Melon with a quick trimmer to the size of the printed image. Place piece of Deco Foil Pink Melon (pretty/shiny side up) on printed image and place into a folded sheet of copier paper, which will serve a a carrier sheet. Run through carrier sheet which holds the printed image and Deco Foil Pink Melon through the laminator. Tip: I used a very old and cheap laminator, so I had to run the carrier sheet through the laminator five times!
Then I took an off cut/snippet of the Altenew Essential Black & White Paper Pack and did the same as the printed image. Yes, I place a cut out of Deco Foil Pink Melon on the patterned polka dot black and white card, inserted them into the carrier and ran it through the laminator (only twice this time!) and had the foil transferred. It’s so gorgeous and I learned this from an Altenew Design Team member, Therese Calvird.
Colour image with Prismacolor Pencils, PC1031 Henna, PC929 Pink, and PC1092 Nectar. Just colour the edges of the images. Treat area with label on perfume image with anti-static powder, stamp letters, ‘A’ and ‘R’ from Stampendous Small Typewriter Alphabet Stamp set with Clear Embossing Ink, sprinkle with Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Burnt Red Lustre, and melt embossing powder with heat tool.
Die cut three hearts with the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts Party Die using rose pink metallic card. Cut a couple of narrow strips of rose pink metallic card.
Now it’s time to assemble the card. Adhere strip of foiled patterned card to left of card base in a landscape orientation. Cut down card with printed and foiled image to fit front of card front taking into account the foiled patterned card. Adhere fun foam to back of card panel with double-sided tape and affix to card front. Attach the two narrow strips of rose pink metallic card to the edge of the card panel that is alongside the foiled patterned card - do this with the aid of a T-ruler and liquid glue. Attach the three metallic hearts to the top right of the card panel with liquid glue and finish card with some gems using a gem picker tool and liquid glue.

Steps for this card are very similar to Card #1. Different products used for this card are as follows: Deco Foil Emerald Watercolor, DMC Diamant Green Metallic Thread, Fashion Silver Embellishments, and Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Blaze Golden Meadow.
Card #3
Steps for this card are very similar to Card #1. Different products used for this card are as follows: Deco Foil Summer Rainbow, Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Arctic Red Aurora, Altenew Tied With Love stamp, and Memento ink Love Letter.
