This post which includes a video shows how I make 15 cards(!) for Kendra’s Card Challenge 10 which runs for a quarter from 1st April to 30th June 2023. [You can officially enter up to 3 times (once per month in the quater)].

Check here for first #KCC10 Video Hop where I show how I complete two different cards for Card Sketch #6.

This is a really cool challenge which requires you to pick six 6” by 6” patterned paper and make 15 cards following the 15 card sketches that Kendra provides. The sketches include measurements to cut your patterned paper, which is amazing. For someone who does not use much patterned paper in my cards, but loves accumulating patterned paper (don’t ask me why as it’s one of life’s mysteries) this is a great way to start using my patterned paper. All measurements are for A2 cards which measure 4.25” by 5.5”.

The trick is to choose six pieces of 6” by 6” patterned paper carefully so they will coordinate in colour, pattern, and orientation - thus it’s best to choose all six patterned papers from the same paper pad.

The paper pad that I chose for these 15 cards is from Alcohol Ink Backgrounds 6x6 Paper Pack - the colours of the patterned papers complemented each other which made compiling the cards easier. Once the patterned paper is chosen, then the matts need to be cut in accordance to the measurements given in the card sketches. There’s two ways to do this: Either (1) go through plain coloured card stock, Papermania A5 Premium Textured Cardstock Assorted, for colours that would match the patterned papers for matts, strips etc.; or (2) use ink to apply colour to edges of a white card cut to the size of the matt. I use Altenew Dye inks that match the patterned paper.

See below for inks, embellishments, accents, and sentiments used for each of the 15 cards.

Check out the video below.

Cut the six patterned paper using the cutting guide above, insert the cut patterned paper into a separate plastic pouch for each of the 15 card sketches, so as to not mix them up. Then follow the card sketches (see below) and cut out matts and strips as well as embellishments using complementary card colours.
